Wood Characteristics

• Warm reddish-brown to medium-brown color with a golden sheen
• Interlocked grain produces a distinctive ribbon stripe or chatoyant figure that shifts with light

• Works well with sharp tools; interlocked grain can cause tearout on quartersawn faces - take light cuts when hand planing
